The new CDC report compared each state to see which had the highest teen birth rate.

The rate of teen pregnancy in the state of Mississippi was said to be 60% higher than the national average.

The numbers released as part of the report were based on rates from the year 2006.

Teen pregnancy saw an overall increase in the year 2006, with Mississippi leading the way.  The increase was the highest since the year 1989 to 1990, and ended a 14-year decline.

Other states who were very high in terms of teen birth rates included Texas and New Mexico.

The teen pregnancy rate in both of those states was said to be far above the national average as well.

Researchers believe that the rise in teen pregnancies is due to the failure of abstinence-only health education.

Looking at it from the other spectrum, the state with the lowest teen pregnancy rate was New Hampshire.

This should be tacalled as early as possible because it mmay affect government service delivery.

It may as well pput pressure on the available resorces since such a 60% high population increase than the national level means a cherllange to sastainable development.

The local authorities and the government should there fore be senstive on this charllange to have results in the shotest time possible.
Am a schooler at the university of Makerere kampala uganda offering a Bachalor of arts in economics. And in my own paspective and taking a MALTHUSIAN stand, rapid population growth rates are a threat to development of an economy. This is due to high dependance baddens and poor standards of living.

In a nutshell therefore, girl chirld education in fields of abstainance and behavioral change capacity should be encouraged at all adolscent levels of education.
