It is not uncommon for crushed bugs to be used in food products as well as cosmetic products.
The crushed bugs are usually used in order to get certain colors for the foods or make-up.
The FDA has come out an druled that products need to be listed with more clarity in terms of what they contain.
For example, crushed cochineal beetles is the ingredient used in carmine.
The FDA now wants labels to read that beatles were used in these particular products.
Food products which contain crushed bugs could be anything from juice to candy, to anything else.
So the next time you check out a label, see if a bug was used in there to make the product.
