Should We Demand That President Obama Quit Smoking?

Washington (dbTechno) - It is a pretty well-known fact at this point that President Barack Obama smokes. This has sparked a great deal of controversy, asking the question, should United States citizens demand that their president quit?
It has been well documented that smoking is bad for your health. Not only for the smoker, but also for others as second-hand and third-hand smoke are also very harmless.
According to the American Lung Association, tobacco related illnesses lead to the deaths of nearly 400,000 people each and every year.
President Barack Obama has stated in the past that he is doing his best to quit the habit.
There have been questions surrounding this though, such as if he is allowed to smoke in the White House or not.
It is clear that quitting smoking for President Obama is not going to be an easy task.
Personally, I do hope that President Obama quits smoking, as he would set a fantastic example for people all across America.
Whether or not the American people should demand that he quit though is a different story.

President Obama has demonstrated a much greater amount of discipline in his life than the average smoker. His stellar resume and daily workout regimen are proof of that, which is why it’s more than a little disappointing that he smokes. Quitting the habit would inspire countless millions of fellow smokers to do the same. However, if there’s one guy on the planet with a stressful job, it’s him. So I’m willing to give him a pass on it.
Well, although I do not condone smoking and used to smoke myself ( gave it up 15 years ago).
“SMOKING” is not illegal yet !!!!!
What the hell, if he wants to smoke to chill out, leave hime alone, whats wrong with you people. Kids are going to smoke whether the president smokes or not. Good God people get a life.
Oh and BTW I am a Republican so their is no political affiliation with this guy, I voted for the the other guy.
Re; the headlines, what you need is a robot for a President, if you cannot accept, he is human. No-one is perfect, no-one.
What sad people, really, if that is all that bothers you, the fact he liked a cigarette.
It may be “well known fact” in your circles, but most people aren’t aware of this. Since it is not a habit on public display, and is most assuredly a personal choice having nothing to do with his ability to govern, I say let’s err on the side of not intruding into every aspect of his life. (P.S. could you have found an older photo?).
I don’t care if President Obama smokes or not. However, The White House, Camp David, Airforce One and any Government buildings are for practical purposes, public property. Therefore, if he chooses to smoke, he must by law smoke outside or in facilities where smoking is still lawful.
Washington DC bans smoking and there is no smoking on airlines as well.
What a ridiculous notion. Just because the man is the President doesn’t mean his private life. Besides, don’t we have more important issues at the moment? Get a freakin’ life and stop wasting everybody’s time with something so asinine.

This is true, I never new he smoked. Funny, this pic looks a bit on the Photoshop side? Even if he is a smoker I doubt he would just blatantly stand around in such a disrespectful pose such as this. Most smokers I know don’t leave the cigarette hanging from the lip.

Everyone seems to forget that Bill Clinton smoked cigars in his office. What Obama does is his own business, it only takes a stroke of the pen to do an Executive Order to change the smoking policy in the White House, after all that is what Bill Clinton did and then ignored his own Executive Order.
The White House is not only his office but his home. If the man wants to smoke it is no one’s business but his. It is still a legal product.
No one has the right to demand that President Obama quit smoking. It’s not up to you or anyone else to tell him what he can and cannot do.
