Pistachios Recalled By Kroger Due To Salmonella Bacteria

It appears that we may soon be in the middle of another salmonella outbreak.  This comes as the Kroger Co. has announced a recall of pistachios due to the fact that they may be contaminated with the bacteria.<br /> .........Washington (dbTechno) – It appears that we may soon be in the middle of another salmonella outbreak.  This comes as the Kroger Co. has announced a recall of pistachios due to the fact that they may be contaminated with the bacteria.

The recall was announced this week by the Kroger Co. and it will have an impact on the majority of the United States.

The Kroger Co. has recalled their Private Selection Shelled Pistachios.

The variety in question includes 10 ounce cans of the particular product, with a sell by date of either December 13th or 14th.

The scary part of this is that these pistachio products were sold across the U.S. to over 30 different states.

Up to this point, there have yet to be any illnesses connected to this particular product that may be tainted with salmonella.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is working with Kroger on the case.

Salmonella can cause serious and at times fatal infections, hitting the young and elderly hardest.

Symptoms include fever, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.

Some of the stores which received the products include Dillons, Fry’s Baker’s, and others.

The states which will be hit by the recall include the following.
