(Update) FDA Looks Into Link Between Salmonella, Pistachios

The FDA has been putting out warnings throughout the course of the week to try and alert consumers of the possible link.

The whole goal behind this is to try and stay one step ahead of the salmonella bacteria if indeed it is in pistachio products.

There have already been over 2 million pounds of nuts recalled by one of the largest pistachio producers, Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc.

There has yet to be any word as to what the source of the salmonella contamination is at this point.

The pistachios though have been sent to states all across the United States.

There have been other companies who have announced recalls of pistachios as well, including Kroger Co. Frito-Lay, Kraft Foods, and others.

The nuts were detected to contain salmonella initially in random testing by Kraft Foods.
