Mississippi Continues to be Fattest US State
July 3, 2009

Boston (DbTechNo) - Mississippi continues to be the heaviest state in America according to the results from an annual report.
The report was put together by the Trust for America’s Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and has some shocking findings>
The report found that in 31 US states, 1 in 4 residents are obese, a shocking statistic for sure.
In 30 states, 30% of children are also considered to be obese, a fact that reflects volumes on their parents.
Not one state saw a reduction in their rate of obesity, and the rate of obesity amongst people over the age of 65 increased.
“The obesity epidemic clearly goes beyond being an individual problem,” said Jeff Levi, executive director of the Trust, a nonprofit public health group.
Colorado was found to be the leanest state in the country, with only 18.9% of residents considered obese.
