Drinking Coffee May Reduce Memory Loss of Alzheimer’s Disease Patients

Results of a new study show that drinking a lot of coffee daily can reduce the risk of memory loss in Alzheimer's disease patients
Boston (DbTechNo) - Results of a new study show that drinking a lot of coffee daily can reduce the risk of memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease patients.

This interesting finding comes to us from researchers from the state of Florida.

Coffee contains the stimulant caffeine and when given to mice, appeared to reverse symptoms associated with the disease.

Alzheimer’s disease is characterized by a plaque protein which builds up on the brain of patients.

According to study researchers, caffeine can actually hamper this dangerous plaque from developing, thus reducing symptoms of the disease.

The researchers hope to begin a human trial soon, to see if the effects seen in mice who were given the stimulant, also are evident in actual human Alzheimer’s patients.

The study can be found in the Journal of Alzheimer’s disease.
