Boston (DbTechNo) – Senator Chris Dodd has been diagnosed with prostate cancer but has no plans on stepping aside from his post.
Dodd has been a member of the US Senate since 1980 and has no plans on letting his cancer diagnosis slow him down.
He stated that his cancer was caught in its earliest stage, and that he still plans to run for office next year.
Doctors have scheduled surgery for Dodd next month, during Congress’ break.
Dodd plans to return to work when the Senate comes back to work in September, and plans to run for his 6th term in office in 2010.
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men over the age of 65.
