FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg Announces Agency Changes
August 6, 2009

Boston (DbTechNo) - The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) have announced plans to toughen guidelines regarding food and drug safety.
Over the last few years, serious health problems arising from contaminated food have resulted in the agency coming under a lot of fire from people who ask why they are not doing their jobs properly?
In a statement, FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg stated that the agency will be ramping up their efforts to keep Americans safe by making a few key changes.
The FDA will take a more aggressive approach in dealing with drug companies, and will also make public the results of factory inspections, even if they find evidence of unsanitary work conditions.
“The FDA must be vigilant, the FDA must be strategic, the FDA must be quick and the FDA must be visible,” said Hamburg.
“In some cases, serious violations have gone unaddressed for far too long,” Hamburg said. “These include violations involving product quality, adulteration, and misbranding; false, misleading, or otherwise unlawful labeling; and misleading advertising.”

Whatever! This from the agency that will not force dentists to tell patients that the “silver” fillings in their teeth are actually 50% mercury in content. (Mercury is a known neurotoxin.) From my understanding, she is on the board for Schein, Inc, and receives a nice little compensation. If that isn’t a conflict of interest, I don’t know what is. So, as originally stated — WHATEVER!
I am interested in knowing from the FDA commissioner the results of the investigation on the highly suspect curity/kendall artificial ventilation endotracheal tubes manufactured by the U.S company and sold [only] outside the U.S which required excessive pressure to creat a tracheal seal.
