November 4, 2009

Boston (DbTechNo) - It is being reported that a pet cat has been diagnosed with the dreaded swine flu virus.
The cat comes from Iowa and the resulting positive swine flu diagnosis has prompted the American Veterinary Medical Association to release a statement warning pet owners.
This positive case is the first in a cat, and probably not the last.
“The cat, which has recovered, is believed to have caught the virus from someone in the household who was sick with H1N1. There are no indications that the cat passed the virus on to any other animals or people,” the statement said.
Before this cat diagnosis, the virus hadb been confirmed in pigs, ferrets and birds.
