Children diagnosed with autism can benefit greatly from early intervention say researchers of a new study
Boston (DbTechNo) - Children diagnosed with autism can benefit greatly from early intervention say researchers of a new study.

According to the researchers of the study, as little as 2 years of autism therapy can go a long way to reducing symptoms associated with the disease, which can result in a milder diagnosis.

Their study featured 48 children with autism, some of which subjected to special autism therapy and others subjected to traditional less complicated treatment.

The special autism therapy focused on social interaction/communication and faired better than traditional treatment when it came to reducing signs and symptoms of the condition.

All children in the study, carried out at the University of Washington were between 18 and 30 months of age.

The researchers noted that infants as young as 18 months of age could benefit from autism therapy, and detailed their findings in the journal Pediatrics.
