December 10, 2009

Boston (DbTechNo) - Women who drink a lot of wine maybe at risk of recurrent breast cancer, say researchers of a new study.
This is the result of a study conducted by researchers working at the Kaiser Permanente health provider, located in Calif.
Previous studies have found that drinking wine in moderation can be very healthful, a finding not shared by this latest study.
Researchers performed a study on nearly 2000 breast cancer survivors, comparing the recurrence of the disease with how much wine the women drank.
The data was collected over an 8 year period, to give researchers enough time to varify data and make sure it was accurate.
They noted that those women who drank 3 to 4 glasses of wine a week, increased the risk of breast cancer recurrence by 1.3 times.
Furthermore, those women who were overweight or post-menopausal were at an even greater risk of their breast cancers recurring.
