Cell Phone Use May Reduce Risk of Alzheimer’s Disease
January 7, 2010

Boston (DbTechNo) - Results of a new study suggest that your cell phone could reduce risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
With millions of cell phones being used each and every day, if this study finding is accurate, a lot of people could unknowingly be doing themselves a huge favor.
Previous studies have linked exposure to radiation omitted by cell phones to increased risk of brain cancer, but this latest study finds that there could be a silver lining.
Researchers from Florida performed a study using lab mice as their test subjects.
The mice were exposed to the electro-magnetic fields that are omitted by cell phones for an average of 2 hours a day for 7 months.
The study was performed using mice genetically bred to have Alzheimer’s comparing their health to normal mice of a similar age.
Those genetically altered mice exposed to radiation showed similar memory and thinking skills as the normal mice, meaning that the radiation they were exposed to appeared to block the presence of the disease.
The study can be found in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.
