USA With a Surplus of Swine Flu Vaccine

The United States are yet to decide whether or not they plan on selling or keeping their surplus swine flu vaccines
Boston (DbTechNo) – The United States are yet to decide whether or not they plan on selling or keeping their surplus swine flu vaccines.

Other countries, some from Europe and even the country of Canada have decided to part with surplus vaccines, due to the decrease in the need to use them.

In many cases, countries ordered vaccine amounts based on the theory that 2 shots per person would be necessary when in actual fact, 1 shot has proved to be sufficient.

France has stated publically their intent to sell up to 25 million doses of the swine flu virus, and Germany is planning to cancel up to 25 million doses.

Canada just announced plans to lend millions of doses to Mexico, who will give them back when they get their own supply in the spring.

Dr. Anne Schuchat of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that the goal is to immunize as many Americans as possible against swine flu, and that demand for immunizations continues to be high.

The US government has already paid for 250 million swine flu vaccine doses from 5 drug makers.
