Health Officials Continue Promoting Swine Flu Vaccine
February 6, 2010

Boston (DbTechNo) - Health officials are still urging Americans to get their free swine flu vaccine despite the fact that cases of the virus appear to be on the down low.
Swine flu first emerged in April of 2009 and wasted no time in sweeping across the globe, infecting thousands of people and killing hundreds along the way.
Drug makers have developed vaccines to protect us from contracting the swine flu, but many countries are sitting on surplus amounts of it because people are no longer as keen to be vaccinated.
In the US for example, many residents refuse to get their vaccine, despite the fact that the country is one of the most hard hit by the virus.
“Many people believe the outbreak is over and I think it is too soon for us to have that complacency,” Dr. Anne Schuchat of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told reporters.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) up to 80 million Americans have contracted swine flu, leading to more than 11000 deaths.
