FDA Approves Rituxan to Treat CLL Patients

The FDA have just approved Rituxan to treat patients diagnosed with a certain type of leukemia
Boston (DbTechNo) – The FDA have just approved Rituxan to treat patients diagnosed with a certain type of leukemia.

Roche is the manufacturer of the drug, which has just been approved to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia the most common type of adult leukemia.

CLL is a type of blood cancer which tends to be diagnosed in adults over the age of 50.

Rituxan along with chemotherapy appeared to be very helpful for CLL patients, as the combo appeared to slow down progression of the disease.

The drug is already approved to treat patients diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and rheumatoid arthritis.
