Michelle Obama in Mississippi Talking Childhood Obesity

Obesity is no laughing matter, which is why Michelle Obama is taking a stand
Obesity is no laughing matter, which is why Michelle Obama is taking a stand.

The First Lady travelled to Mississippi yesterday as she continues on the road promoting her anti-obesity campaign.

Childhood obesity has been proven to put future adults at serious health risk, raising the likelyhood of hypertention, heart disease and diabetes.

Childhood obesity can be prevented, but parents need to take an active role when it comes to making sure that their kids are not neglected when it comes to a healthy lifestyle.

Parents should be making sure that their children eat healthy food and get daily exercise, thus thwarting the risk of potential unhealthy habits forming.

“We all know that when our kids don’t eat right and they don’t get enough exercise, what happens is that they’re at greater risk of a whole range of preventable diseases — things like diabetes. And a long time ago diabetes was also only something that happened in adults, and now we’re seeing it more and more among kids because they’re less healthy,” Obama said.
