Sex Definition Changes From One Person to the Next

Asking a person if they have had sex or not sounds like a very simple question, but a new study finds that the answer is often quite complex.

The study, performed by researchers from the Kinsey Institute finds that one’s definition of sex is as different as an apple and an orange, due to people having differing opinions of what sex actually is.

Engaging in intercourse with another person is what I presume sex to be, but ask a neighbour, relative, co-worker or a passerby and you might get four different answers altogether.

Researchers performed a telephone survey featuring 204 men and 282 women, asking a series of sexual questions.

“Would you say you ‘had sex’ with someone if the most intimate behavior you engaged in was ….” and then they were offered 14 specific choices.

95% of respondants did agree that intercourse was deemed as having sex, but this number fell to 89% if there was no ejaculation.

So have you “had sex?”
