Results of a new study find that the overall global mortality rate has dropped significantly over the last 40 years.
Researchers based their study finding on data from more than 187 countries spanning from as far back as 1970.
For their study, the researchers analyzed death records from government registries, household surveys and censuses.
When it came to the countries that led the way in reduced global mortality, Iceland and women in Cyprus were the least likely to die early.
The countries that led the way in the rate of global mortality were Swaziland for the men, and Zambia for women.
The United States scored very poorly on the list, despite being the country that spends the most on health care.
They ranked 45th in mortality for men, and 49th in mortality for women, very poor results indeed.
