Relay For Life Events Support Cancer Research

One sure sign that spring is hear is the many different events being held to celebrate Relay For Life.

Relay For Life is an annual American Cancer Society fundraiser with proceeds that are raised going to support cancer research in the ongoing quest for a cure.

Events are held all over the United States and are a way to bring cancer awareness to the forefront, educating people about the disease and ways that they can reduce their risk of contracting it, if possible.

It is a time to remember those who were unable to beat their disease, and to celebrate those who managed to overcome their diagnosis.

The actual relay for life event involves forming a relay team of family or friends, and walking around a track in relay format for a total of 24 hours.

People donate pledges to the team, thus money is raised that goes to the very worthy cause of cancer research.
