Woman Shoots Herself To Receive Medical Care

A woman from Michigan named Kathy Myers resorted to drastic actions over the weekend in order to receive medical treatment for a pre-existing injury she sustained from an incident involving her dogs.

The 41 year old, who does not have health insurance turned a gun on herself, shooting herself in the shoulder in hopes of receiving medical care to treat her condition.

A month ago, she hurt her shoulder while trying to prevent her dogs from fighting and has been in pain ever since the incident, despite being treated by a doctor.

Not having health insurance, Myers was unable to afford the cost of seeing a specialist for her condition so thinking that she could get the medical care she needed if she shot herself in the effected shoulder that is exactly what she did.

Her actions, although controversial to say the least have had a positive effect, as her neighbors are coming to her aid, helping to raise money so she can pay to have her shoulder pain delbt with.
