The next time you take a flight on an airplane you might want to bring your own food as a new report finds many health hazards when it comes to food provided on the aircraft.
FDA inspectors recently showed up at catering facilities that prepare food for many of the major airlines operating in America and made some disgusting discoveries.
The inspections took place at two of the largest airline caterers, LSG Sky Chefs and Gate Gourmet, with inspectors finding ants, roaches, flies, debris, and workers with cleanliness issues.
This is a direct example of what can happen when airlines cut out costs to save money, thus offering food to their customers that is potentially laced with a host of dangerous bacteria.
The agency has not yet stated if any penalties will be handed down to the companies, but one hopes that they get hit hard to teach them that messing with the health of airline passengers is not a game.
