Allergan fined 600 million dollars for illegally marketing botox

Botox is an expensive business, just ask its manufacturer Allergan who will be paying out up to 600 million dollars in fines for illegal marketing.

Millions of women wanting to look younger and more attractive turn to botox as a quick fix as the drug works by removing wrinkles that acrew with age.

The feds have been looking into the advertising methods used by Allergan for over a year now and determined that they were not playing fair.

The company will plead guilty to misbranding, in which doctors ended up using the drug for unapproved medical conditions.

Doctors were using the drug to treat patients for a variety of medical conditions, including cerebral palsy and headaches.

The company will pay 375 million dollars as part of their plea, and an additional 225 million in civil fines.
