Freezing Fat Cells Can Help Weight Loss

The FDA have just approved a new weight loss treatment that involves freezing unwanted fat.

Zeltiq is comprised of a gel patch and a machine that works by freezing unwanted fat cells resulting in them dying.

Up until now the drug has been used to freeze the skin before various dermatology procedures but in a study it proved effective when it came to weight loss.

Researchers noted that the drug worked to reduce weight and could even pinpoint parts of the body that was home to unwanted baggage.

“This is a big deal,” plastic surgeon Lawrence Bass told “Good Morning America.”

“It’s the first time the FDA has cleared a non-invasive fat-reduction technology.”
