Obesity Maybe A Social Disease

Results of a new weight study show that in the years to come the amount of Americans battling obesity will continue to increase.

According to a team of researchers at Harvard University soon up to 42 percent of people living in America will be obese, a staggering percentage of the country’s population.

One of the growing prominant reasons for this unsettling trend is the fact that obesity appears to be becoming a social disorder.

The likelyhood of becoming obese if you have obese friends sounds silly, but according to the researchers it is more common than you might think.

Researchers applied a mathematical model to 4 decades of data from the long-running Framingham study to guestamate their study finding and if nothing changes in the years to come, America will continue to gain weight.

“It looks like obesity is becoming more infectious,” said study researcher Alison Hill.
