Diet Soda Increases Your Chance Of Having A Heart Attack

For years, health officials have guided soda-pop junkies toward drinking diet carbonated drinks, if they insisted on drinking them. A recent study has, however, revealed some facts about diet carbonated drinks that some may find disturbing.

Hannah Gardener of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine led the study. For nearly ten years, Gardener and her researchers monitored the drinking habits of more than 2,500 New York state residents, many of whom consumed diet carbonated drinks on a daily basis.

The research found that who consume the drinks daily are 61% more likely to experience a heart attack or a stroke.

Although some members of the public began to immediately express concern for their personal health and the health of their loved ones, Gardener has said that the results of the study should not jar anyone’s habits quite yet.

“Hopefully this will motivate other researchers to do more studies,” Gardener said.
