Jean-Claude Mas Boss Of Breast Implants Of PIP Arested After His House Raided

Jean-Claude Mas and a Poly Implant Prothese director, Claude Couty, were arrested and charged with unintentional harming for their role in the company’s breast implant case. Mas may have manslaughter charges added soon.

PIP was ordered to shut down by investigators in 2010 and had its implants prevented from further use after it was discovered that they were using industrial-grade silicone gel, which is known to cause ruptures in the implants. A rupture can cause scar tissues which often lead to a lifetime of pain and deformed breasts.

Approximately 500,000 women around the world are thought to have these implants, the list of patients includes thousands of women with breast cancer.

Some of the women are being offered free replacements while others are being given the chance to have them removed without the implants being switched, which is causing even more problems for PIP.
