Sony Signs With Cable Companies To Mix TV And Cable Box

Seattle (dbTechno) - Sony Electronics has signed deals with all of the major U.S. cable operators on Tuesday to allow TVs to be created witha cable set-top box built into them.
Having to buy a TV and then place your cable box on top of it may soon be a thing of the past thanks to this new agreement reached by Sony and the major cable companies.
This is going to pave the way to help grow the two-way interactive cable TV services for consumers.
Cable companies were represented by the National Cable & Telecommunications Association and consisted of Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Charter, Cablevision, and Bright House Networks.
Sony and the cable companies will adopt the tru2way as the plug and play standard to use for their development of the technology.
You may not have to rent a set-top box from your cable company for much longer if Sony has their way.
