Fandango Makes Blockbuster Move, Buys Movies.com

June 24, 2008

Comcast-owned Fandango has purchased the smaller Movies.com.....Boston (dbTechno) - Comcast-owned Fandango has purchased the smaller Movies.com.

The popular movie ticket Web site Fandango has announced on Monday that they have purchased Movies.com.

Movies.com also sells movie tickets, but has proven to not be as popular as Fandango over time.

Comcast owns Fandango, while Walt Disney Co. owned Movies.com.

The idea behind the purchase of Movies.com is to increase the profits from advertising and ticket sales for Comcast.

Reports state that Fandango users and Movies.com users are separate, meaning Comcat may be able to double its users.
