MySpace Set To Open Up For Developers Next Week

Boston (dbTechno) - MySpace Inc. has announced that they will launch the developer platform program next week, as they are already allowing developers to sign up for the new program.

MySpace announced back in October that they were going to open up their platform to developers. They were going to give developers APIs in order to allow them to build applications for the largest social-networking site in the world.

MySpace stated that the new program will launch on February 5.

Chief Operating Officer at MySpace, Amit Kapur, stated the program will give developers “deeper access to our community through APIs so they’ll be able to build richer applications.”

The developer program will support Google’s OpenSocial API which is appealing to developers as it allows applications to be built for one social network such as MySpace, and then work on many others.

MySpace is currently trailing the likes of Facebook in terms of developed applications, but they could catch up with the proper developer support.
