Amazon Continues Fire Sale Of HD DVD
April 3, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - Amazon has continued their push this week to get rid of every last possible HD DVD that they have in stock. Starting on Tuesday, they began to offer 60% off HD DVD movies, expanding their price cuts significantly.
Many titles are now priced at under $12 with top HD DVD titles being included in the sale.
Some of the more notable movies to be featured in the fire sale include Old School, Transformers, Top Gun, as well as the Star Trek: The Original Series - Complete First Season box set.
Amazon has been trying to clear out stock of HD DVD ever since Toshiba announced the death of the high-definition format last February.
Wal-Mart and Best Buy are continuing their push to get consumers to move over to the Blu-ray format with bigger displays, more product, etc.
Best Buy also stated they will send out a $50 gift card to any customer who purchased an HD DVD player before the format died. Circuit CIty offered refunds to anyone who bought HD DVD players.
