They recorded it on video and planned to post it online on MySpace and YouTube. There is now a call to block video content such as this from being posted online.

The teen, one week after being brutally beaten, is still recovering.

Parents are calling for Web sites such as MySpace and YouTube to block the posting of such disturbing videos.

According to reports, one of the teenage girls lured Lindsay to her home, where the other teenage girls were waiting.

Once she got into the house, she was confronted by two teens whom she allegedly wrote remarks about on MySpace.

The six teen girls, who were between the ages of 14 and 17, then proceeded to attack Linday, knocking her unconscious at one point as her head hit a wall. Once she woke back up, they continued the beating.

The six teen girls continued the assault as two teen boys stood outside of the home, standing guard to keep anyone from coming in.

The video has been shown on various new sites, and has the girl being hit time and time again in the head.

According to the affidavit, the attackers put Lindsay in a car belonging to one of the attacker’s grandmothers, and then drove her around, dumping her at an intersection.

This has sparked major concern among parents in regards to videos posted on YouTube and MySpace. They are calling for the two popular internet sites to restrict this type of content, and to not allow it to promote violence.

I THINK WE ALL SHOULD LOOK AT HOW WE ARE TO DEAL WITH TEEN VIOLANCE OTHER THAN THE POSTINGS ON YOUTUBE AND MYSPACE!

  2. Maura on April 9th, 2008 7:56 am

Wow. Those girls really need to get over them selves. VIOLENCE IS NOT THE ANSWER!!

  3. Angelica on April 9th, 2008 8:06 am

damn..myspace is a bad place to be talking crap about other people especially girls because girls bring to much drama and they take things very seriously..

  4. derek- TheTrueAce on April 9th, 2008 8:21 am

i want to see the video, the people have a right to put whatever they want on the internet. youtube and myspace also have their right to block such items but if they start to block content more frequently then there will be other sites to rise and take their place.

  5. Will on April 9th, 2008 8:26 am

I don’t read anywhere if the teens where send to jail or what?

They should send the six teens to jail until they are 21, and the one who is 17 should be going to prison. Personally I would just beat the crap out of all six so that they know how much it hurts.
The parents of all six dumb kids should also be send to jail and especially the owner of the house where this happen.

This is one nobody trust anyone in this country, at least in iraq I knew who my enemy was.. but here is at you home.

  6. Will on April 9th, 2008 8:27 am

One more idea. BAN THE SIX KIDS FROM USING A COMPUTER UNTIL THEY ARE 30 YRS OLD.

  7. davon on April 9th, 2008 8:49 am

i think just because her kid did something stupid that dosent mean we sholdu block the website from that because no body told her to do it but she did and wut gave her the smart idea anways but yea thats wut i think bout this.

Sir’s, I would like to say, how sorry I felt for that
young lady,to go though, what she went though.
I think the police should put these xxxx bags in a
cell, and let them have some treatment, that will
teach them ,the wrong they had done.
They think it was fun,to show it on youtube. My
stomach turned over, and I felt like giving them
    a good hinding myself.THE SXXXBAGS

Derek of TheTrueAce. You want to grow up,if it
is the only way you get your kicks, then I pity you.
To watch a young lady get a beating like she had,
is disgusting. From Doug of Beds.

Have you noticed whenever a teen gets arrested, myspace is always somehow involved in one way or another? The powers that be at myspace should really look into this and make some major restrictons. It seems that anyone could post up anything without any evaluation. As for the 8 teens…I heard they showed no remorse at all, and even cracking jokes, maybe being tried and convicted as adults would let them see the seriousness of all this.

  11. Candice on April 9th, 2008 9:27 am

I don’t know what those girls where trying to prove because all it proved is that they were very weak not to mention stupid. All six of them had to gang up on one girl (woooooo they’re really tough). I feel bad for the girl and the mother. There should definitely be harsh punishment for all of them. The one video taping and the ones involoved in the actually fight. They all played a role. This was not spur of the moment, this was planned! Someone has to be made an example of the violent fights that seem to be happening everywhere because it’s not a joke, especially when god forbid it ends up in death. Let’s not wait for that and say what we should of done…………………….Do something NOW!

Where is the movie? Rumour has it one of the gang members is my daughter.

With each year that passes the youth of today create a higher tolerance for what is acceptable behavior - disregard for property and human life is at the top of the list. As partly evidenced by the comments from some of the offenders parents, this attitude is fostered in the home. Decency would suggest that a parent whose child was caught beating another child would take responsibility by first condemning the act and then seeking justice for the victim in the form of punishment to their own child. These children and parents are the ultimate form of what is wrong with our society, people concerned only about themselves and not willing to take responsibility for their actions. If we are to continue as a civilized society then we must demand of our lawmakers that people who condone or participate in these type of actions are removed from society (put in jail and penalized monetarily). The posting and promotion of these videos by anyone, YouTube or an individual, should be considered harmful to our youth and society as it desensitizes us to what should be understood as completely unacceptable bahavior and should therefore be pulled from view. If you think this is some form of Big Brother well, maybe you are right but it sure seems that if left unchecked our society will become a place where violence gets you anything you want. If you disagree, think how you would feel if your child was bullied, beaten or raped and no one cared but you.

I’m a mom and it tares my heart out to see that things like this happen. I can’t tell you how badley I feel for Lindsay and her parents, I would be devastated if this would happen to my daughter. I really hope that all the teenagers involved will get the punishment they deserve and they do deserve punishment, all should go to jail. They ruined Lindsay’s life for ever, she will suffer from this for the rest of her life. One thing I hope for those heartless teenagers, I hope that this will never happen to their daughter when they become a mother or dad.
The fact that these teenagers did this so they could get the video on those websites tells you enough, those websites should watch every sngle video put on their website and take violent videos of the site and report these to the police so they can go after the ones who put it on there. Inpossible? If you care I don’t think so and if they can’t do it…then get them of the net.
My husband has also been in Iraq, is this what they fight for? For freedom so the American people can kill each other?

  15. Zerobomb on April 9th, 2008 10:29 am

Apparently the parents have blamed the internet, claiming it fosters this sort of behavior. The internet, however, is quite confidant that it is in fact the parents’ fault. Had the parents instilled such virtues as temperance and charity the kids would not have even considered such cruelty. Had the parents provided a loving family environment the kids would not have turned to the internet for approval. Had the parents taught the kids to make worthwhile friends, the aggressors and the victim would not have even associated with each other.

There is no doubt the kids deserve harsh punishment, but the parents should also be reprimanded.

  16. Zerobomb on April 9th, 2008 10:31 am

@Maura: whether violence is the answer depends on the question.

  17. kayla on April 9th, 2008 10:39 am

I think all of the 6 girls were stupid very stupid i think they should get the hell beat out of them see how it feels and they all should go to jail lock up or even prision and they shouldve asked lindsay first if she said that or not its ignorant and rude thats all i gotta say

  18. Rob Graham on April 9th, 2008 11:08 am

I think those six or eight teens girls are all low down trash cowards. So what if the girl said things about them.shrug it off it wont be the first time in there lifes someone belittles them. Now these girls have a bigger problem of this issue over there heads for life.Stupid stupid

  21. derek -TheTrueAce on April 9th, 2008 1:01 pm

doug from bedfordshire england (lapland) please note that, just because that was all i said dosen’t mean thats all i thought. the WHOLE thought is that you need to see the video to understand the pain that this girl went through, but you would also have to read the myspace conversation as well to understand the whole story. im not watching the video for kicks, i only wish to understand the situation and konw the driving force behind acts like this. as well i thought it important to express my feeling that the internet is a place of free expression and is goverened by no one body. the video will exist somewhere on the internet weither the king, the queen, the president, or the emperor don’t want it there.

  22. derek -TheTrueAce on April 9th, 2008 1:02 pm

WILL, as for you mr will, have you ever heard of a punishment fitting a crime? the computer had almost nothing to do with it… so instead we should stop them from interring houses until they are 30? the house had more to do with the crime then the internet…so why not?

  23. Jennifer Lynn on April 9th, 2008 1:03 pm

It really makes me sick. As much as I would like to say they will pay, we all know how the system works. I’ve known someone to pass away after being brutally beaten by several gang members (because of the color of his hat). Guess what, 2 of 5 members were jailed, one of them served 3 months, the other 2 years. My friend lost his life forever…..now they continue to live their life. What kind of justice is that. I pray for that girl the sysyetm will come through and all 8 of them will get what they deserve. They deserve to spend their life behind bars being beaten every day.

  24. Latisha on April 9th, 2008 2:01 pm

It really makes me sick! As much as I would like to say they will pay for what they did to her. I pray for that young lady to get better! The teen needs to rooten in the jail cell beacuse they knew what that did was not right. Meanwhile i want them to know that they are not the only bigger people out here in the world there are people out there that is harder than them. And another thing is to take out myspace And YOUTUBE bacause that is not no good website to show what they ahve on it. Thet be lying about their age anyway just to get in. So I the parents of the teens who did that to that young lady to know that they should leave their teen right behind bars because that will teach them a lesson! Teens walk around the world like they can beta on others which they can’t!

  25. Victoria oller on April 9th, 2008 2:02 pm

I have a teenage daughter. She has shown me several videos on teen beatings. It is on youtube the most. I am not impressed with the behavior of our teens today. Any teen who would brutally beat another should be locked up and be analyzed for mental problems. Be made to go to anger management and serve community service until they are 21. Maybe then they will realize that there are bigger and better things to be concerned with.
That is the problem with our children today. They are all about ME!!!

  26. Micaela Smith on April 9th, 2008 2:23 pm

I can’t believe that the mother’s of these girls let this go on! I am a mother of 3 girls and I have always told them that ALL girls are mean! If we would have been able to access the internet and go on myspace when I was in high school, I am sure it would be the same thing! I had gotten into many fights for things that I had not even said! If we had myspace at least I could have prove what i had posted. These girls and there parents should all spend a little time in jail! especially the 2 teen age boys who stood guard!

  27. klumzy on April 9th, 2008 2:41 pm

I think girls under 18 shouldn’t be on myspace anyways. where are the parents?? these girls should’ve been doing homework and not banging on the internet.
I say put these little girls in jail and teach them a lesson. little girls these days just have nothing better to do. also the boys need to be in jail too. sitting there and being a look out. come on! gimme a break. throw them all in jail and throw away the key!
_I hope that little girl who got beat up gets better and stay strong. everything will be alright.

  28. Gregory on April 9th, 2008 6:06 pm

I am sick that thay think the problem is posting it ony myspace and youtube…. I think myspace AND youtube should NEVER block any content as long as it is not incest, child porn, and maby a few others. When people do acts of vilont nature or ‘aginst the law’ it is there right to do such but society dose have its consicences. I think it is wrong tho for them to try and hold the ‘media’ at the same level as the offender. Also maby seeing an act of violence might also have the effect to alter or change the minds and harts of others for the better. After watching a girl get beat it might move you to take no part of the action…

We may be humans, but we are still animals with natural instincts, some of which we are probably still trying to evolve out of. Here in lies the problem with modern society. While the size of our brains and our intellectual capacity may distinguish us physically from other animals, it is our ability to strive to improve ourselves, and our surroundings, and to seek out our divinity that truly make us human. Love and Compassion are part of our nature, but behaviours like this are purely animalistic, and totally a step in the wrong evolutionary direction.

  31. lisa vaughan on April 9th, 2008 7:31 pm

i think it is so sad the way teenagers tend to deal w/ things these days:( they think by doing mean things like this make them cool or badass, but it only makes them cowardly & bullies!!! i have a 12 yr old daughter in middle school & she would never harm another human being & the thought of someone ever doing this to one of my daughters is terrifying & unnerving!!! those kids should be punished severly & taught that it is not okay to do what they did!!!!

  32. Ramona on April 9th, 2008 8:51 pm

The web sites are not the problem. its the gross behavior of those six girls. i myself am 16, and came across this story by word of mouth. the Immoral, evil, rank, and sinful acts by these Juvenile unintelligent witches is one of the most awful things i have ever seen. the shear fact that they truly believe that they are not at fualt both angers me and scares me. This has nothing to do with MYspace (which i do not have) or youtube. youtube for example has guild lines that must be followed and this sickening video has been taken down. the problem lies with these 8 kids. their own dullness lead them to this and that is the only resson. parents are ooking out for thier children and the internet has been a target for alot of issues but this is not one of them. to the parents of these kids and to these kids themself you are to blame for what happen of March 30 to Victoria Lindsay and you all should pay for it like she is riht now in the hospital bed.

First of all Chubby doin all the beating is like twice her size. Theres plenty of things I could sit here and say. I just hope they all get punished to the most that they can. And dont get no pitty. Because yall it looks to me they sure as hell didnt have no pitty on her.

  36. me. on April 10th, 2008 11:57 am

ooh, &for the parents to think that it was okay?
that she deserved it?? wtf. how old are we again??

  37. Samantha on April 10th, 2008 3:20 pm

Wow just hearing about this and seeing the video makes me sick. Those 6 girls are absolute cowards and ignorant people. They deserve to get tried as adults and to be in jail for the rest of their lives. To honestly beat that girl to death over some stupid Myspace stuff is so ridiculous. They obviously have no sense in them and were not raised right. Especially the girls mom who said on her interview that Lindsay couldn’t back up what she was saying so she had it coming. It’s like wow grow up and see that your daughter made a horrible mistake and did wrong. I mean be real here the girl is deaf now in one ear and blind in one eye. Like isn’t there a time to stop? Those girls should honestly go to hell. Lindsay is going to have to go through so much recovery; emotionally and physically. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Lindsay. I hope she can get better quickly and just move on with her life and not have to deal with stupid immature girls like that. Just tell me what is our world coming to?

  38. d.h. on April 10th, 2008 3:45 pm

This prooves yet again that the mentality of people seriously sucks, that we as humans are becoming more like our stone age ancesters… savages. no matter where you look, what you read, or what you hear people are either hurting or killing over some dumb reason. They say the human race has evolved, we haven’t. Here is a question, do you know what the most deadliest spectes is on this planet? Give up? its man, we are the most deadliest species roaming this planet, soon there will be no human life on earth because all we do is hurt, kill, and destroy. Violance doesn’t prove a dam thing, then showing it on you tube or myspace, come on people wake up, and grow up.

  39. Mary Yanez on April 11th, 2008 11:09 am

I hope those undeserved “humans” that beatten a 16th year old girl get in to a prison for the rest of their poor and misarable lifes and the parents will have to deal with that and with the por existance of themselves , You dont get wild and psycho with animals less with a human being

  40. brandon on April 11th, 2008 11:10 am

y dident she fight back any way um i think its descosting thay sould burn in hell

  41. JACQUELINE SULLIVAN on April 11th, 2008 12:42 pm

I THINK THAT WHAT THEY DID TO THAT POOR LITTLE GIRL IS TOTALLY UN CALLED FOR. WHAT THEY DID SHOULD BE ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES. THEY COULD HAVE KILLED THAT GIRL. I KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE I HAVE NEEN JUMPED BY 3 GIRLS AT ONCE. I FLET LIKE I WAS DIEING . I WAS SCARED . I COULDN’T EVEN IMAGINE BEING LOCKED IN A HOUSE WITH 6 CRAZY GIRLS BEATING ME UP AND NO WHERE TO RUN . I THINK THOSE GIRLS DERSERVE ALOT OF PUNISHMENT.

  42. Jacob on April 11th, 2008 1:17 pm

The 6 girls and 2 boys who participated in this should all be treated as Adults. Come on now, they knew better. For them to video tape there own crime proves they put planning into this. It was a conspiracy between them all. They should also be hit with judgements that take effect when they are released from prison.
The need to pay that poor girl restitution for the rest of there lives. She should own them!

  43. Marie on April 11th, 2008 1:57 pm

I think the Judge should make an example out of them. It will only continue if they get away with it. We need to put a stop to it now. JUDGEMENT SHOULD BE AS HARSH AS THE BEATING.

  44. Kai on April 11th, 2008 3:18 pm

If the victim was MY daughter, I guess I would be the one in jail, becuase all those who were responsible would be long dead. No need to tie up the courts with trials for those losers.
This may in fact be what the father is thinking right now. If I were one of those kids, I would be watching my back for the rest of my life!

  45. carolyn on April 20th, 2008 12:20 am

    i dont think they should blame youtube and myspace for this because it isnt there fault its the kids fault…if you ask me i think they should get LIFE in jail nobody deserves to be beaten or treaten this way…she was begging them to stuff and they were worried about furniture…i cant belive people would do this..this is sick!….mii prayers go out for her and her family;;
when people gang up on one person liek that that just means there weak.. anyways i pray

  46. lexi on April 20th, 2008 1:54 pm

poor lindsey but I wish I could of been there I might of got beatin up but I am not going to take that. I might can only take one girl down but there is no way in heck im going to let one of those girls go without a serious butt woopen. And everytime I look at that video the more mad’er I get.

  47. Mike on January 15th, 2009 8:32 pm

Are some of you having trouble with your Caps Lock key?

Anyway, I find this assault horrific and despicable, though I haven’t even seen the video yet. A few comments on the Internet is not worth beating someone to death, no matter how rude or nasty the comments were. Those 6 got exactly what they deserved: jail.

But, I must ask something of the adults on this comment board. PLEASE, do not judge teens based on this. Not all teenagers are like this. I hope our public image may improve over time; from what I’ve seen, all other age groups seem to think we are scum. There are plenty of bad teenagers out there, but there are 6 times as many good ones.
