Yahoo Partners With Google To Fight Off Microsoft
April 9, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - In a move to try and fight off a hostile takeover by Microsoft, Yahoo has signed a deal to give advertising space to Google. This is an attempt to try to get Microsoft to raise their bid for the Internet giant.
The trial will go on for two-weeks as this is apparently a short term deal to start off.
The trial will show whether Yahoo has the ability to gain more revenue if they use Google’s search advertising technology.
Google-generated ads will appear next to many search results in the U.S. on Yahoo. It will use AdSense for Search to deliver ads with Yahoo’s search results.
The ads will be limited to only 3% of all search queries.
The move by Yahoo is to show Microsoft and others that they have options to help them grow. This could also force Microsoft to raise their $31 per share bid for Yahoo.
This could prove to be the tool needed for Yahoo to demand a higher bid from Microsoft.

Yahoo thinks that it’s all that. They are threatened by Microsoft, and is getting retailiatory. Micorsoft’s bid, at 31 dollars a share, is WAY over what it’s worth. If Microsoft launches their hostile takeover bid, I say morepower to em!!!!!
