The intent was to beat her and then post the video on the video-sharing Web site YouTube. They face charges which could have them receive a sentence of life in prison.

On March 30, six teenage girls from Florida carried out a brutal attack on 16-year old Victoria Lindsay. The motivation was apparently due to heat between the girls, which started on MySpace. They also had two teen males act as their look-outs.

They video-taped the attack with the intent to put the video up on YouTube.

Some of the video was released by authorities, but was edited. Still, the video that was shown was extremely violent, as the girls repeatedly threw blows to the head of Lindsay. They also slammed her head into a wall, knocking her out completely.

According to the affidavit, following the beating the attackers put Lindsay in a car belonging to one of the attacker’s grandmothers, and then drove her around, dumping her at an intersection.

17-year old Mercades Nichols, 17-year old Britney Mayes, and 17-year old Brittini Hardcastle are all being charged with felonious battery, as well as kidnapping and false imprisonment.

16-year old Cara Murphy, 15-year old Kayla Hassell, 14-year old April Cooper, 17-year old Zachary Ashley, and 18-year old Stephen Schumaker face charges of felonious battery as well as false imprisonment.

The suspects will make their first appearance in court on Friday in a Polk County courtroom.

Since they are being charged as adults, the penalties are much greater. They face the possibility of being sentenced to life in prison due to the severity of the charges.

I am glad to hear these teens are being charged as adults. They could have killed this girl from a serious concussion!!! About life in prison, all the ones who participated in the actual beating should be sentenced to life, and the others should do a LOOOOOOONG time as well. Shame on them! I hope this teaches a lesson to other stupid teens who handle their differences in the same manner.

I think this whole thing is stupid. Them girls need to be locked up for the rest of their lives. Noone deserves to be beat like that. I hope when they get to jail that the same thing happens to them. Get to them what they deserve.

More than a century of women’s suffrage and liberalization in America and this is what it amounts to, women beating women. The constitutional provision that allows women the right to vote should be repealed. Women should be subordinate to and placed under the strict observation of adult men.

This is one of the most brutal and savage assault against a child i have ever seen, america is outraged about this almost murder of a girl who was kidnapped, held against her will, chose not to fight back against nine animals. The last time i saw something like this was when i was watching discovery channel and they showed how lions attack and kill their prey in packs, the animal show i saw about the lions was less vicious and brutal then this. At least these animals were hungry and it is natural. What is the justification of these pack of animals that would do this . A messege has to be sent , that this type of horrible crime will not be, and never be accepted again. They need to do some hard time in this case ,at least 20 years each, if not more . She has lost sight in one eye , and hearing in one ear. Tell me what time can make up for that, and the mental scars she will carry for the rest of her life. We can only hope and pray that for once justice prevails here. and that we have smart jurors who wont be swayed by clever, manipulative, lieing, lawyers who will try to get these thugs off the hook
