Coldplay Gives Away Free Single On Web Site

Boston (dbTechno) - Coldplay is joining the likes of Radiohead and others by offering free music online as a means to promote their new album. They have announced that for one week, they will make their first single off of their new album, Violet Hill, available for free on their Web site.
The internet is becoming, now more than ever, a great way for artists to promote music.
Coldplay, starting today, will be offering the first single off of their new album, Violet Hill, for free as a download off of their official Web site. The download will be available for one week.
Violet Hill is the first single off of their new album, Viva la Vida which is set to release on June 12, 2008.
As a means of further promotion, they ahve also announced free shows at the Brixton Academy in London on June 16, as well as Madison Square Garden in New York in June 23.
