Gates spoke in Tokyo, stating that Microsoft will pursue its own “independent paths” after they pulled out their bid for Yahoo.

Last weekend, Microsoft announced that they were withdrawing their bid for Yahoo.

The reason for the withdrawal was over the fact that Microsoft and Yahoo’s board could not come to an acceptable sales price. This came after Microsoft raised its bid to try and sweeten the deal.

Gates stated though that as of right now, “Microsoft is focused on its independent strategy.”
