Stephen Colbert Takes Home Top Webby Award

Washington (dbTechno) - Stephen Colbert, the host of The Colbert Report, has taken top honors winning a Webby. This comes after he announced his U.S. presidential campaign to beat out the likes of Obama and Clinton. It failed, but he still has managed to win the Webby award for the Person of the Year.

The Webby awards are pretty much the Oscars of the Internet, and Colbert just won the top prize.

This was the 12th annual Webby awards, which ended with Colbert taking home the highest honor. He won the award for his “innovative way he used the Internet to interact with fans of The Colbert Report.”

Black Eyed Pea’s will.i.am took home Artist of the Year, as well.

Winners will be honored at ceremonies on June 9th and 10th in New York.

The Webby awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.
