Google Friend Connect has launched and allows webmasters to add Google social features to their Web sites.

These features include things such as Gmail chat and much more.

How it works is webmasters will be able to take a whole bunch of social applications made through the Google OpenSocial development platform, and install them on their sites with great ease.

Friend Connect will also fully utilize OpenID for sign-in purposes. This means that users will be able to take friends’ lists from Google Talk, Facebook, and other services.

Orkut is also said to be included as one of those services.

Google is expected to select around 10 sites within the next few days to go live with Friend Connect.
