Microsoft To Pay Users Who Buy After Using Search Engine

May 21, 2008

Microsoft has announced a new Boston (dbTechno) - Microsoft has announced a new “cashback” service which will pay users who buy products they find by using the Windows Live search engine.

The new program is called Windows Live Search cashback, and is an attempt by Microsoft to entice users to use their online search engine.

Microsoft is currently in third place in terms of search engines, behind market leader Google and Yahoo Inc.

This gives users a reason to use the Windows Live Search engine, as a product search on the engine will give users links to online retailers. Over 700 retailers are involved including eBay.

If a user buys an item from the retailer’s site they will get anywhere from 2% to 30% of the purchase price back as a cashback rebate.

All users have to do is to sign up for a free Windows Live cashback account.
