Amazon Set To Offer On-Demand Movies, Television Shows
July 17, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Amazon, the major internet retail giant, has announced the launch of a new online video store which will offer on-demand movies and television shows.
The new service, called Amazon Video on Demand, will improve the past effort from Amazon to offer videos over the internet.
The past store required users to wait for a video to download to their computer to watch it.
This time out, the new service streams movies or television shows, giving Amazon the ability to fully compete with Apple’s iTunes store.
The new Amazon Video on Demand service will require you to pick up the Sony Bravia Internet Video Link, which costs around $300.
More options are expected to be forthcoming to enjoy this service on your TV though.
