For their troubles, they have given all subscribers a free month of service.

Apple sent an e-mail to all MobileMe subscribers, apologizing for the bad week. They have also given a free month of service to all subscribers.

The company stated in the e-mail “We have recently completed the transition from .Mac to MobileMe. Unfortunately, it was a lot rockier than we had hoped. Although core services such as Mail, iDisk, Sync, Back to My Mac, and Gallery went relatively smoothly, the new MobileMe web applications had lots of problems initially.”

MobileMe is an online sync service aimed tot help with contacts, e-mail, scheduling, and storage.

It costs $99 for a single user annual subscription, and replaces the older .Mac service.
