The 42-year old Gary McKinnon had his appeal denied by the European Court of Human Rights.

His attorneys argued that McKinnon should not be extradited to the U.S. on humanitarian grounds.

Their argument was that if he is extradited, he would be placed in conditions which could be deemed inhumane.

The next step for McKinnon is to appeal one more time to try to be prosecuted in the UK.

The British man was indicted back in 2002, charged with hacking into 92 different U.S. government computer networks in 2001 and 2002, including those of NASA and the Pentagon.

He was reportedly looking for evidence that the U.S. government had found UFOs or aliens.

Prosecutors stated that he caused over $700,000 in damages, and  faces around 70 years in jail if convicted.
