British Man Who Hacked Into NASA, Pentagon Loses Appeal
August 29, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - A British man, 42-year old Gary McKinnon, lost an appeal this week, and will now likely be extradited to the United States. He is the hacker who managed to hack his way into the Pentagon and NASA.
The 42-year old Gary McKinnon had his appeal denied by the European Court of Human Rights.
His attorneys argued that McKinnon should not be extradited to the U.S. on humanitarian grounds.
Their argument was that if he is extradited, he would be placed in conditions which could be deemed inhumane.
The next step for McKinnon is to appeal one more time to try to be prosecuted in the UK.
The British man was indicted back in 2002, charged with hacking into 92 different U.S. government computer networks in 2001 and 2002, including those of NASA and the Pentagon.
He was reportedly looking for evidence that the U.S. government had found UFOs or aliens.
Prosecutors stated that he caused over $700,000 in damages, and faces around 70 years in jail if convicted.

if he’s such a genius why did he get caught?
I want to know what he knows.
Wow, a lot of praise for a stupid criminal. Honestly, he was looking for UFO knowledge. Wouldn’t have made more sense to hack into, say, the databanks of Area 51, which is the normal place for the whole “UFO conspiracy”? And before anyone says “That’s exactly what the want you to think.”, if this is true, then why is this spread by word of mouth, rather than government action?
Also, “he would be placed in conditions which could be deemed inhumane”? Are we really such big pricks to the rest of the world, that they think we would put a hacker into Guantanamo Bay? Honestly, he’d probably be in a Minimum Security prison, because he isn’t a violent offender.
get him searching for binladden not UFO’S and lil green things..
