Did Microsoft Mess Up By Teaming Seinfeld With Gates?

September 8, 2008

The big question over the course of the past week has been whether or not Microsoft made a mistake in choosing a team of Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates to lead a new ad campaign.....Washington (dbTechno) - The big question over the course of the past week has been whether or not Microsoft made a mistake in choosing a team of Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates to lead a new ad campaign.

Microsoft has put $300 million into this ad campaign, in an attempt to try to improve the public perception of the Windows Vista platform.

The other idea behind the ad campaign is to counter the ad campaign by Apple, with their Mac Guy.

The Apple campaign has proven for months now to be a huge success.

The new ad put out by Seinfeld and Gates has not been received all that well though by the public.

Critics have stated that the basic public perception is that no one really understands the idea behind the move, or the commercial itself.

We will have to wait and see if Microsoft spent $300 million on something positive, or simply threw it away as the ad campaign continues.
