Google, Yahoo Forced To Put Brakes On Advertising Deal
October 6, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - Google Inc. and Yahoo! Inc. have been forced to put the brakes on their major advertising deal.
The two companies, two of the largest internet search engine companies in the world, are just about set to embark on a huge advertising partnership.
They have announced though that the deal has to be delayed, so that anti-trust lawyers from the U.S. Department of Justice can review the entire case.
It is reported that the delay is going to be very short, as it will be less than a month.
The advertising deal was announced between Google and Yahoo back in June.
Before it is able to move forward, it has to receive regulatory approval.
Google put out an official statement saying “The companies have agreed to a brief delay in implementing the agreement to continue our ongoing discussions with the Department of Justice.
