Parents Can Limit Car’s Speed, Volume With Ford MyKey
October 7, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - Ford has announced a new feature that is going to debut in the 2010 Focus, known as the MyKey feature, giving parents control over their teens even when they are not in the car.
The MyKey feature is a programmable key system that is going to give parents full control over the vehicle at all times.
Parents who want to encourage safe driving are going to be able to use the feature to put a limit as to the top speed that the car can go.
On top of that, they will also be able to control the top volume of the stereo in the car.
Other nice little additions which should help drivers a great deal include giving earlier warnings of low-fuel.
Teen drivers will also get notices when they hit certain speeds such as 55 mph, 65 mph, etc.
The idea behind this is to help promote safe driving, particular among teens.
