After The Vote, Facbook Moves Forward With Terms Of Use
April 25, 2009
Washington (dbTechno) - Now that all of the votes have been cast, Facebook is moving ahead with their new terms of use policy.
The new policy is known as the Facebook Principles and Statement of Rights and Responsibilities.
The new terms of use were heavily debated by many on the internet when they were first announced.
The debate was so heated that Facebook decided to let users vote on the new terms of use.
They ended up recording around 600,000 votes from registered members, with nearly 70% approving the new terms of use.
There was an uproar earlier in the year when the terms of use were first updated.
This update was revealed to all by reporters and showcased a change in the way Facebook operated.
Basically what it said was that Facebook would have control over user data, even after an account was deleted.
This meant even if you completely closed your Facebook account, they would still have the rights to retain your photos, data, etc.
For those interested, the changes are going to be put up on the Facebook blog.
