Best Buy Unveils Plan to Launch Digital Movie Download Service
November 3, 2009

Boston (DbTechNo) - It is being reported that Best Buy is preparing to enter into the digital download market, by announcing a plan to set up a system which would allow consumers to download movies over the internet.
Best Buy will be teaming up with CinemaNow to develop their service, which is yet another slap in the face for video rental stores such as Blockbuster and others of a similar nature.
Best Buy has a definite foothold in the electronics market in America, and is actually the largest retailer of electronic goods in the country.
The software needed to download movies and television shows will be included on all viable electronics sold in Best Buy stores across the country, including televisions, computers, and even mobile phones.
“Our relationship with Sonic Solutions allows Best Buy to quickly establish a strong position in the digital delivery of video entertainment,” Brian Dunn, chief executive of Best Buy, said in a statement.
