Google Testing Television Search Service With Dish Network

March 9, 2010

Internet search giant Google is testing a new TV search service in conjunction with Dish Network.

The service would allow users to search using Google’s Android system, for shows on either Dish, or YouTube.

The system would come in the form of a television box attached to one’s television set, and would allow for consumers to create customized program lists.

The service began in beta last year but up until now has only been available to some Googlers and their families.

This move would be great for Google as it would also open the door to local advertising campaigns which consumers would run into while navigating the service.

Google are said to be in talks with other major companies to potentially expand this new fledgling service.
