Boston (dbTechno) - Apple, sd always, has consumers wanting more. Tuesday, Apple released two new models for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Tuesday, Apple released two new models for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The only difference is memory as Apple has double the two devices memory. The iPhone now has 16GB and the iPod Touch now has 32GB.The iPhone, on release day had two option for buyers, The 8GB and 4GB.

Apple is once again giving consumers a choice. The 8GB is sticking around for the same price of $399 while the new 16GB is priced at $499.The new iPod Touch has yet to kick out it’s lowest model as the 8GB and 16GB models are still being sold respectively at $299 and $399, while you guessed it, the 32GB model is at 32GB.

From tradition, you can expect Apple after a month or two to drop the 8GB model and lower prices once again.

The new iPhone and iPod touch appear to be exactly what they were with no cosmetic changes.

There’s not any sign of new software, except they now ship with version 1.1.3, the software upgrade Steve Jobs showed at Macworld in San Francisco. Both are available immediately.

Apple is hoping for a little boost to the iPhone and iPod Touch sales and maybe giving those people who waited for more memory now a reason to buy.

This could also potentially have those not happy with their 8GB model to sell those and upgrade to 16GB.

However, if they can hold off for a few months, more like six, Apple will more than likely be releasing a new 3G iPhone and possibly having the 16GB model be the low end.
