Apple Misses 1,000 Mark for iTunes Movie Rental Service
March 3, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - According to reports, Apple has fallen short of their promised 1,000 movies for the rent through the iTunes Store by the end of February. They currently, as of last Friday, only had 399 movies available for rent.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced back at MacWorld that they would kick off a rental service through the iTunes Store.
He promised that by the end of February, Apple TV owners and those through the iTunes Store on their computers would have 1,000 titles to rent.
To date though, there are only 351 titles ready to rent through the Apple TV service, and only 499 through the iTunes Store on a computer.
This comes less than a week after Apple missed their goal of getting the iPhone software development kit out by the end of February as well.
Apple is expected to announce the release of the iPhone SDK though this Thursday.
